FurrButt Friday!

Let me introduce you to this week's Featured Adoptable FurrButt, "Chile"!

She is believed to be a Rat Terrier / Italian Greyhound / Mixed (short coat) and is about 2 years old.

Here is her info from her webpage:

Chile is a darling little girl who we found in a kill shelter in PA after she had been found wandering the streets of Philly. She was dirty, very thin, and very scared!
Now she is doing much better and is ready for a new family. She is 7.8lbs, approximately 2yrs old and has been vetted!! She does very well in her crate as long as shes taken out every few hours (tiny dogs have tiny bladders you know).
She is still timid in new situations and because of this and her size, we will NOT be placing her in a home with very young children. She does fine with other animals of ALL sizes.

"Chile is very affectionate, very playful..loves to run around the yard like a windup toy...fine with other dogs and cats...loves loves loves attention."

OK so here is my view of Miss Chile!
First let me say that I typically am not a fan of the small breed dogs, I love me some bulk! :)
I was prepared for a shaky little thing that would be difficult to take pictures of. But I actually really like this little girl! Even though she was a bit nervous and didn't like the camera much she is SUPER sweet and you can just see that she want's Furrever bad!
She is very curious and even though content to sit in a lap, want's to play and explore. So even though she had a rough start she is not completely fearful of the world.
She is dainty but solid for her size, she is just a real neat little dog and
I have to say I am very surprised that she has not been adopted!

Her ears are so stinkin cute!!

Agh another moment that I love to be able to talk about because I also have this thought that all little dogs are "crazy lickers" but she is content to just sniff and give a little love :) at least from what I saw.

FurrButt Friday!

This week's Featured FurrButt is Miss Pia!
Available for Adoption!

If you visited for Felicity's Feature, Pia is the calmer version of her. She is super sweet, very loving and just beautiful!

Here is the information from her webpage:

Pia is a lovable mixed breed mutt who we found at a kill shelter just after she gave birth to her babies. She was a stray and was never reclaimed, so she and her little family came to DAAWG.
Pia is very well behaved, and must have been someones pet at some point. She does very well in the house and her crate and loves everyone. She gets along fine with the other dogs, but does need to fed alone...too many nights without food have left her a bit piggy with her food. If her lovely face speaks to your heart, the way it did to ours, then please fill out an application for her today!

In my time with this Gorgeous babe all I saw was a big ol lap dog!
She just needs a sofa and a lap to put her head in.
Long walks where she can look around at every little thing.
She is one of those babes you just KNOW will be totally dedicated to her family.

As you can see she want's to be pampered :)

Curious, intent and focused! Highly food motivated and very cooperative given that we were at a meet and greet.

She had no interest in getting "in the face" of the visiting children but loved it when they scratched her head. It seems that she would be more of a Mommy figure with younger children instead of a playmate.

She just wants to be a Family Dog!

In this picture: The pen in the background holds her last two babies, she stayed close to them whenever she could but such is her life that the lady in the picture is looking at the babes while Ms. Pia goes unnoticed.

If you are interested in Pia Please visit DAAWGs!

FurrButt Friday! (a day late)

Meet Shadow, this weeks featured Adoptable FurrButt!
She came to visit with CompAnimals and a couple of her FurrFriends.

This is Benji! You can visit her page here.
She has the most Beautiful eyes!

And Sweet Ellie, her page can be found here.
I think she looks like she came from the Orient!
Beautiful Dog!

Here are the excerpts from Shadow's webpage:
Shadow is an adorable little rough coat Jack Russell, 6-7 yrs old. She was recently returned to us when her handicapped owner could not keep up with her.
Shadow is actually kind of mellow for a JRT but she does have that terrier personality.
Shadow loves going on walks & flushing little critters from the bushes! She is also a little snuggle bug and loves to cuddle. Will even let you sleep in on Sundays!
Shadow is 110% housebroken as well as crate trained. She is an opinionated little dog and might decide that she needs to protect your house from wandering UPS men - would do best in a home with JRT experience or someone familiar with (and able to practice) Cesar Millan type training/behavior modification. Shadow is good with cats & other dogs (although she can be a little bossy). She thinks it her her job to wash ears & eyeballs!
Shadow would do great with an active person who can take her places. She is a great little portable size & makes a good driving buddy! Shadow has been spayed, vaccinated & is on heartworm prevention. She is staying at our Adoption Center in Landenberg - visiting hours Wed-Sat 12-5. Please email for more information or fill out an application at www.companimals.org Adoption $100.

Well usually I write something about these babes but they already did such a great job! I will add that I think she is Super Cute and do not see her as an older Dog. She has a very cool attitude and was willing to do what I asked of her, for the most part :)

She LOVES treats and will work for them, I think she could be taught some neat things because she highly food motivated.
She is Child tolerant, my 3 year old was able to give her treats without her snatching them but she wasn't real interested in him until he was riding on his bike. She would do best in an older child or adult home.
See that Terrier coming out?! Shadow is such a great sized dog sturdy and small and would be a great addition to your home!
CompAnimals has an Adoption Center on the corner of New London Rd. (Rt. 896) and Flint Hill Rd. in Landenberg, PA across from Hill's Auction.
Stop by to see some of our animals for adoption Wednesday through Saturday from 12 to 5pm (Sunday by appointment). Many of our dogs are in foster care and they will come visit us from time to time. Our cats are available at the Adoption Center during all of our open hours. Please email for more info!

FurrButt Friday! Calling all Hound Lovers!

This weeks adoptable FurrButt is Julianna a GORGEOUS Pure Red Bone Coonhound. She currently resides with Lost and Found Dog Rescue and is hoping to find her furrever home.

Pictures do NO justice for this babe, she is amazingly beautiful, has those soulful hound eyes and velvet ears.

She is a Submissive female and if you know anything about hounds she will want to spend much of her time on the couch with her head in your lap!

Julianna's nose is always in the air as you can see and she is a very tall girl, the combination of these two things almost guarantees that she will attempt to scale a 6 foot fence if given the chance. She must have a Pet Stop fence system in place to keep her safe. You can not expect a hound NOT to follow their nose!

Have you ever heard a Dog, Bay? Well that's what hounds do! To me it is a wonderful sound and much preferred over a bark, when they Bay it is with purpose, never just because.

Pretty smile!

Eyes that you could fall into, almost human!

If you are interested in this Beautiful Babe please visit her page to find out more about her and to contact Marleen with Lost and Found Dog Rescue.

FurrButt Friday!

Featured FurrButt!

I have decided that every Friday will be FurrButt Friday! I will feature one Wonderfully Adoptable Baby with their information, my personal opinion based on the time I spent with them and a collection of images so you can see for yourself!

Meet Felicity!

In my hour or so with her, I fell in love so I have decided to feature her for so many reasons but mostly because she IS the perfect "Active Family" dog and she needs a family!

This is from her web page, "Felicity is an awesome girl that came to rescue with her newborns. They are grown and gone now and its time for Felicity to find her furrever family. She is about 18months old and still very much a playful puppy. She loves to run in the yard and can make a toy out of anything she finds!! She does very well in her crate and is working hard on leash training. She would do best as an only dog, simply because she plays very rough...its all tackle for this girl..no flag football here. She would make an outstanding jogging partner."

(But I watched her completely submit to 2 very small playful dogs and I photographed it! But safety first, she is a strong girl!)

This is what I saw,
The moment I met her she was in my face, giving kisses, trying to get in my lap and the tail going a mile a minute!
You could almost hear her say, "OHHH a new person!!! Let me kiss you, let me smell you, I want to play with you!!!!" A bundle of energy that greeted each and every person, big or small, that exact same way!
When I think of the perfect Family for her I think she needs her own Boy! An active Boy that will wrestle with her, run with her, throw a ball for hours with her, teach her all kinds of cool tricks and let her sleep in his bed! A boy to be her brother and her best friend in the world!
(This is just my opinion)

Felicity IS what all Pittie lovers call a Pit Bull! You see there is no true "Pit Bull" this name includes many breeds and breed mixes, the Pit Bull has no "guaranteed" appearance. Many Pittie lovers know that a Pittie is based mostly on Personality traits, ALL of which is pouring out of every inch of this beautiful girl! A great place to learn about the history and Personality traits is to visit BadRap.org a wonderful Group in California.

Anyway just see for yourself!

A People Pleaser, People LOVER, Child Lover, Eye contact that goes for days, Curious, Interested and Ready!
